The chocolate Porsche
By RICHARD BLACKBURN - SMH
Porsche fondue anyone?
A Porsche dealership in the Netherlands has created a choc-top version of the 911 Carrera supercar.
According to internet reports, the world's most expensive chocolate treat has been covered in 175kg of Swiss chocolate as part of a publicity stunt for the Dutch feast of Sinterklaas, a national holiday to honour St Nicholas, the patron saint of children and the forerunner of the modern Santa Claus.
The dealership, Porsche Centrum Gelderland, covered the $250,000 sports car in cling wrap before pouring the molten chocolate over it.
For added artistic effect, the creators of the edible 911 used white chocolate for the headlights and foglights.
Sinterklaas is celebrated in the Netherlands on the night of December 5 and people have traditionally made chocolate letters to mark the occasion.
