Sipping on endless glasses of water at parties can be tedious if you're pregnant, breastfeeding or just not drinking alcohol, so we thought we'd show you some yummy non-alcoholic mocktail recipes to help make the festive season more fun.

Charlotte Kurta, general manager of Mishmosh Bar in Wellington had a few suggestions for some fun cocktails- or mumtails if you would prefer:

A Mummy Mule ( a twist on the Virgin Moscow Mule)

Ingredients:

1tsp palm sugar

1 whole lime cut into wedges

Mint

Ginger beer

Ice

Method:Mix sugar and lime into a glass, add a handful of mint, ice, and top with ginger beer. stir all together in the glass and enjoy!

Mummy Rosebud ( a twist on the Virgin Rosebud)

Ingredients:

2 lime wedges

1 tsp of passionfruit palp

Cranberry juice

Pineapple juice

Vanilla

Ice

Method:Squeeze lime into a glass, add the passionfruit pulp, cranberry juice, pineapple juice and vanilla (optional) top with ice, stir & enjoy

Apple Shortcake  (a little bit fancy & desserty)

Ingredients:

2 tsp apple and cinnamon compote (we make in house, like we are making stewed apples with cinnamon and vanilla pods)

apple juice

caramel sauce 

Method:Add all the ingredients together and top with ice, stir and strain into a martini glass.

Some other cool drink ideas for preggy mums:

Arnold Palmer: Mix equal parts of lemonade and ice tea in a glass of ice for a fresh, fizzy refreshment.

Beach blanket bingo: Mix equal part s of grapfruit, cranberry juice together, top with soda water and garnish with a lime wedge for a fruity, fun momtail.

Cardinal punch:Mix 60ml cranberry juice with15ml lemon juice and 30ml of orange juice in a glass, then top with 60ml gingerale, garnish the glass with orange and lemon slices for a mom fruit punch.

Ad Feedback

Pilgrim's punch: Mix equal parts of grape juice and cranberry juice, top glass with sparkling water, add a lemon twist for garnish.
