This week we're obsessed with
NYREE MCFARLANE & SARAH MACKENZIE
THIS AMAZING REUNION: There are good reunions (this Thelma & Louise magic-jazz-hands-inducing-gold-dust is one, even if it was just for a selfie) and there are bad reunions (Spice Girls, 2008). If only Thelma and Louise could have known how well they'd age ...
THIS RENDITION: Pearl Jam just added serious pathos to this year's Gangnam Style. Yes, Eddie Vedder actually had a go at singing the most over-sung, catchy nag-factor tune of 2014, 'Let It Go' when in concert in Italy this week. Check it out.
THIS WEDDING SHOT: The master of minimal, Scandinavian style aka uber-blogger Elin Kling walked down the aisle over the weekend to wed fellow publishing entrepreneur Karl Lindman and we can't get enough of this stunning group shot. Elin's strapless dress complete with flared midi-skirt (of course she's bang on trend, even on her wedding day) is simply beautiful, and everyone just looks so dang happy. Don't mind us, we're off to formulate a who's who of the current fashion glitterati from the guests...
THIS FACEBOOK PAGE: Brava to the genii behind the hilarious Facebook parody page 'Humans of Remuera'. Move over New York. It's very #firstworldproblems-plus-plus. We'll leave you with a quote from them: "I can't believe you bought a Lexus! So pedestrian. Where do you live, St. Johns?" Check it out.
THIS FACE MASK: While we try our best to be diligent with our skincare routine, often the thought of having to rinse or peel (cringe) a face mask off is enough to relegate this step to the bottom of our priority lists. Enter Weleda Wild Rose Smoothing Masque: the lazy girl's new best friend. With a thick, creamy consistency, this lightly perfumed formula feels more like a moisturiser than a mask, and the best part? Rinsing isn't required - in fact it's recommended that the remaining cream is left on your skin to absorb in its own sweet time. At $39.90 it's slightly on the spendy side, but you can expect 3-4 months of weekly use from the 30ml tube. Minimal effort for softer skin? Yes please.
THIS HEALTH-CONSCIOUS MOTHER DUCKER: 'Cave ducks ate mostly algae and swamp grasses ...' Anyone who has worked in a cafe/restaurant in the past 10 years will have met many, many human versions of this whiny duck. 'Umm. My right knuckle really swells up if the feta I eat isn't organic... oh and can I please have a flat white?' Check it out.
