There is nothing more pleasing to the eyes of a single person than a classic wedding photo fail - and this one is a doozy.

They were going for a picturesque lakeside shot worthy of Pinterest, but instead this Minnesota wedding party ended up taking an unscheduled swim.

Things quickly went from smiles and sucked-in-tummies to shrieks and splashes, as the pier collapsed under the weight of the bride, groom and 20 bridesmaids and groomsmen, sending them ungracefully into the drink.

According to KMSP-TV, despite the unexpected plunge, the wedding ceremony started just 10 minutes late.

Our favourites are the bridesmaids closer to land. No sentimenatlity here - these gals desert their friend the bride and head to shore to save themselves. Relatable.
