Before Beyonce took the stage wearing a backside-baring leotard, bridesmaids had adopted a similar trend.

A plethora of wedding photos have popped up on Reddit, a user-generated social networking site, showing bridesmaids with their dresses tucked into their knickers, as if by accident after going to the toilet.

We aren't sure why this is a trend, but, it certainly isn't the first of its kind. Other unusual trends include:

Trashing the dress

Forget about the time and money a bride spends finding the perfect dress. Once the big day is over, so too is the dress for some. From climbing trees, to covering it in paint and even setting it on fire, some brides are opting to ''trash'' their wedding dress once the formalities are out of the way.

The bride posing as the groom and vice versa

Bridal parties partial to a bit of roleplay are swapping poses. The groomsmen hold the bouquets and they gather around the groom, who is pretending to be the bride.

Bride's bouquet replaced by flying cats

A website takes your average ''bride throws the bouquet'' shot and replaces it with a flying cat.

But don't worry. ''No cats were harmed in the making of this Tumblr and we certainly don't encourage anyone to throw a cat ever, let alone on their wedding day,'' the website says.

Hiring a professional bridesmaid

Lastly, not so much a wedding photo trend but still worth mentioning is hiring a professional bridesmaid. One such is a New York writer, Jen Glantz.

After being asked to be a bridesmaid twice in less than 48 hours, Glantz considers herself a professional.

''People were nicknaming me a professional bridesmaid, so I said, why not try to do this for other women?'' she told Daily Life.

''I honestly wasn't sure. I figured half the people out there would think I was crazy and half of them would respond with a 'are you for real?'''
