A wedding outfit that's best kept for the wedding night made a splash on the catwalk at the Berlin Fashion Week, revealing plenty more of the blushing bride than your traditional dress.

The Daily Mail reported the costume - it couldn't be called a dress by any stretch of the imagination - was shown by German fashion house Kaviar Gauche.

The risqué garment, which looks like a bra and barely-there thong joined together with a central slip, is shrouded in a translucent veil.

The Berlin design team, consisting of Alexandra Fischer-Roehler and Johanna Kühl, are known for pushing the boundaries and for their headline-grabbing shows since they founded the label in 2003.

Unsurprisingly, the design duo are known as mavericks of the bridal design world.

So will the look appear on the next season of Big Fat Gypsy Wedding?

Perhaps a modern bride will embrace the look at a beach wedding.
