The aftermath

Last updated 12:37 13/11/2012

Oops, my bad. Sorry for not updating sooner - I am still alive, in case anyone was wondering.

It has taken a couple of days to recover from what was a really awesome weekend that my favourite people arranged for me.

We needed not have worried about the "Do we get to talk to each other on our hens/stag day" as Beyonce and I both ended up at the train station at the same time to pick up some of our guests. It was great for us to see each other dressed up and getting into the spirit of the day before we split off and did our own things.

As promised, here are some pictorials of the day:

My first drink - a beer on the way to the winery. I am clearly VERY excited about this.

My army wife outfit - "Major Flirt".

Hen 2

Major Flirt and her troop. Awesome bunch of ladies!

Hen 3

Wine at Murdoch James winery in Martinborough. Yum!

Hen 4

My wonderful cake maker made this army wife cake for the hens' party. It tasted even better than it looked! (If anyone in the Manawatu/Wairarapa needs a cake maker, email me...)

Hen 5

Meanwhile, Beyonce got dressed up in this:

Bruno

He battled to get into a few bars so had to get changed but he sweated his way through the day in this fluffy costume in 25 degree heat like a champ (I'm told).

Overall - we survived. It was such good "training" for the wedding day being centre of everyone's attention - albeit hopefully Beyonce's wedding night ends up with fewer bruises on his behind from belts and various other smacking devices.

And to my hens, thank you so much ladies - especially my bridesmaids who travelled from Gold Coast, Tauranga and Wellington to pull off a fabulous weekend. You guys are awesome.

What'd you get up to on the weekend? Do any wedding planning? Attend any hen parties? (Ha!)
