Weddings of the week
When 28-year-old Kirsty and 30-year-old Malcolm met at the party of a mutual friend, they knew straight away they had found something special.
On their 18 month anniversary, Malcolm created a personalised photo album for Kirsty which ended with the most important question of all.
We love the sweet, yet undeniably playful photos from this wedding - which is your favourite?
We'll let Kirsty fill you in on all the details from their special day...
How did you meet? We met at a mutual friend's leaving do where I didn't really know anyone. I was introduced to Malcolm and we spent the rest of the night chatting. We ended up living in London together seven months later and the rest is history.
Tell us about the proposal: Malcs had invited me on a "date day" on our 18 month anniversary. We spent an amazing day in Brighton, and then later on at our favourite local restaurant in London he gave me an amazing present. It was a photo album he had put together documenting our journey from the day we meet all the through to a week prior. At the end of the album was a picture of a ring box with the words "I have one more question to ask you..." When I read it I looked over and Malcs was on one knee. It was the most perfect moment and I will always remember it!
Location of wedding: We had both the ceremony and reception at Ohariu Farm in Johnsonville. We were well looked after by Jude and her team, they really helped make it an amazing day.
Describe your wedding day: Our wedding was fun, sweet and full of laughs. The only downside was that it went by so fast!
The dress: I tried on a few dresses in London but couldn't pick one. When I was home at Christmas, Mum and I went dress shopping at Wilkins and bingo! It was the first dress I tried on.
The flowers: We were lucky enough to have my very talented sister-in-law, Heidi do all our flowers for us. It was her first wedding and she did an absolutely amazing job - loved them!
Highlight of the wedding: It is honestly so hard to pick one, but there were some really great moments during the actual ceremony. Also, my cousin Joseph playing drums alongside our fantastic band The Noodles was an awesome surprise!
Was there any drama? Minutes before we had to leave, my sister's zip broke on her bridesmaid's dress and she had to be quickly whisked off to the dressmaker who sewed her into the dress. Besides that there weren't really any problems. It was also a very windy day and Malcs had to make a quick decision about whether we were still going to have the ceremony outside. Luckily we stuck to our guns and it was fine - the wind sure made for some great veil pictures!
The honeymoon: We haven't gone on our honeymoon yet as we have only just returned from the UK. We are hoping to get away in Winter this year.
Your photographer and favourite photo? Our photographers were the awesome Jason and Aneta from We Do Photography. Choosing them was the best decision ever! They were just fantastic to work with and gave us so many great photos. It is hard to pick a favourite, but I love the photo with my Grandfather who was too ill to attend the wedding but came to see me in my dress beforehand - a very special moment. I also love the not-so-formal photos of our families as it's very us and will always make me smile.
