New-look Dawn misses her old body
British comedienne Dawn French admits she misses her old body after losing more than 45kg.
The Vicar of Dibley star, 54, told UK's Woman magazine that she has lost seven stone and seven pounds (about 47.6kgs) and doesn't have far to go on her weight-loss journey.
"I have a great fondness for that other body," French said.
"I knew it very well and I don't know this one as well, not yet. I was never actually unhappy then so it's not the case that I was miserable and I'm happy now.
"The fact is I'm still a fat woman, I'm still stones over my BMI index or whatever it's called. I never even knew such a thing existed until people started telling me there is a weight you're supposed to be."
At her heaviest, French - who rose to fame as half of comedy duo French and Saunders with partner Jennifer Saunders - weighed 127kgs, and has banned chocolate from her house as part of her diet plan.
"I don't eat bread, potatoes or pasta now. I don't have chocolate in my house. That is really hard," she said.
"... I definitely feel healthier. There's a hill opposite my house and I walk up it everyday and these days I can do it faster and I don't puff as much as I did.
"I like to swim in the sea but I've found it much harder to get in the water with less weight. Before, I had all this blubber - I had my own wetsuit. Now I can't get in the water in the winter months. I don't have enough flesh to keep me warm."
The mother-of-one divorced comedian husband Lenny Henry in 2010 after a 26-year relationship. She continues to star in new British television productions and is focusing more on writing, after having agreed to pen three novels.
