Beyoncé Knowles likes to "get in and get out" when it comes to exercising.

The American singer has been battling rumours she is expecting her second baby with her husband Jay-Z recently, after images of her with a fuller stomach than usual did the rounds.

She silenced them by showing off her rock-hard abs in a monochrome crop top at Kanye West's birthday party earlier this month.

Her trainer Marco Borges has discussed Beyoncé's approach to exercise.

"Beyoncé likes to get in there, get a great workout and get out," he told Heat magazine.

"She's very driven... there's no complaining. She's the kind of person who's always in search of optimum wellness - she just wants to be healthy."

The star has been targeting her midriff with Marco. She does around 200 crunches three times a week, apparently deciding they work better if she gives her muscles some downtime.

"She's so thrilled. She's never had abs like the ones she has now and just loves that her stomach is rock-solid," a source explained.

The singer is famed for her love of food and has regularly spoken of how much she enjoys naughty items like fried chicken.

She's now decided to overhaul her diet a bit, after realising munching on healthy things gives her a lot more energy.

"Bey has a healthy diet, but she also loves treats , like wine and Southern soul food," the insider explained.

"But recently she's completely stripped back her diet and got rid of the carbs. She used to eat pasta or Thai curry before a show to give her energy, but now it's all about protein and high-fat foods."
