Loved-up couple Shane Warne and Elizabeth Hurley have continued to play out their very public romance on Twitter, this time debating the best weight-loss breakfast.

The trimmed down spin king, who is back in Melbourne after ending his cricketing career in the Indian Premier League at the weekend, tweeted this morning that he was hoping to shed nearly five kilograms more to reach his ideal weight of 78 kilograms.

But the once cigarette-puffing, beer-swilling Warney broadcast on the microblogging site today that he was being tempted by pancakes.

''Morning - should i cook myself pancakes or have some nice cereal and fruit for breakfast Currently 82.9kg - target 78kg ! Ok cereal & fruit,'' the 41-year-old tweeted.

This sparked a Twitter exchange between Hurley and Warne as they each shared what they'd chowed down on that morning.

Hurley advised Warne to stick to ''Fruit and no cereal!!'', but the low-calorie diet clearly didn't apply to her.

''Me - 1 egg, 3 pieces of bacon & a sausage-all from the farm. No toast. 3 espressos. But we know I bizarrely eat twice as much as u,'' she responded.

Earlier Hurley wrote that she had cooked and eaten all day, starting with a ''truck driver's breakfast, roast pork for lunch and pasta with tomato sauce for dinner'. '

Warne wrote that he would check Hurley's ankles the next time he saw her.

''Where does all that food go? Hahahaha!!!!!"

Hurley split with her Indian businessman husband of three years Arun Nayar last year, shortly before reports surfaced of her romance with Warne.

Warne reportedly met Hurley at an English race meeting in July last year and interviewed her on his new Australian television chat show, Warnie, which coincided with the Ashes series.

She visited him in Melbourne in February, but left shortly after Valentine's Day, when a British tabloid published a story about Warne's sexy texts to a London hooker last year at the same time he was romancing Hurley.

But their on-off romance appears to be very much back on, with Hurley travelling to India to watch the match and rushing on to the field to embrace him afterwards.
