Levin police are appealing for witnesses to track down a man who robbed a dairy at knifepoint.

Detective Richard Morse said a man entered a dairy on Tiro Tiro Rd at about 8.10pm yesterday, pulled out a knife and demanded money from the attendant behind the counter.

The offender left on foot with an undisclosed sum of money and is believed to have crossed properties on Tiro Tiro Rd to a vehicle in Elizabeth St.

The attendant was shaken but not hurt.

The offender is described as of Maori descent, aged 20-30, about 5ft 8" tall. He was wearing a balaclava, a grey-green coloured jacket and light blue jeans and had a black bag.

"We want to speak to a member of the public who gave chase and anyone who witnessed any vehicles or people acting suspiciously in or around Tiro Tiro Rd or Elizabeth St between 8pm and 8.25pm," Morse said.

Anyone with information can contact Morse on 06 366 0564 or call the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.

What do you make of New World's Little Shop toys?

I agree with Gareth Morgan, toys are 'brainwashing' kids.

They're harmless fun.

They're educational.

Cunning marketing but not brainwashing.
