Girl trapped in car, injured
A 16-year-old girl has been airlifted to hospital with injuries suffered when her car rolled down a bank in Manawatu.
Emergency services were called to the car accident near Stanway, north of Feilding, about 4.30 today.
Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter base manager Chris Moody said the 16-year-old girl had been trapped, injured, in her car after it left the road and rolled down a bank.
St John Ambulance paramedics on board the helicopter and members of the Feilding Fire Brigade worked together to extract the teenager from the wreckage and stabilised her.
She was flown to Palmerston North Hospital in a stable condition, Moody said.
