The Friends of Turitea reserve group has opposed the Turitea wind farm since its conception by Mighty River Power.
In regards to the Puketoi site, group chairman Adrian Cookson said his first concern would be the effect of the wind turbines on the landscape, community and indigenous plants in the area.
He wasn't sure about the details of the proposed Puketoi farm, but would be investigating further, he said.
"We would have to get some idea of how many people were living nearby, and the quality of the land around the area.
"If they are wanting to chop down native forest or put them close to homes, there might be a few people concerned."
