The bold blue and red paint job at Palmerston North's Square Edge building has been revealed after a month of scaffolding shrouding the full effect.

The makeover of the Church St building, which houses the city's community arts sector, resulted in a public outcry, including a number of letters to the Manawatu Standard. Palmerston North City Council parks and property manager John Brenkley said work at the front of the building had finished, but painting was continuing at the back and repairs and maintenance were being carried out at the same time.
