Tararua District Council has issued a hosing ban for Woodville due to low water levels in the Mangapapa Stream.
The council says the resource consent for its water take is approaching the low flow cut off levels, plus the quality of water from the intake forced the decision.
The ban is in place until some rainfall is received which is expected later this week. Residents will continue to have access to the water tanker outside the Woodville fire station, which will be kept available for drinking water until further notice.
