Palmerston North and parts of Manawatu woke to a crisp frost this morning, with temperatures dropping well below freezing point.

MetService reported that the temperature shortly before 7am at Palmerston North Airport was -2 degrees Celsius, but felt like -4.

It was also recommended that four layers of clothing were needed to keep warm.

The forecast for today is for fine weather, with some cloudy periods, a northwest  breeze and a high of 13 degrees.
