At any given time, the ice skating rink in The Square appears to be crammed with Palmerston North residents enjoying 30,000 litres of frozen water. 

Douglas Webber Events' Gareth Webber said he expected closer to 30,000 people to try their hand at ice skating rather than the 20,000 first predicted.

Tim Hamilton was out and about at the weekend filming ice skaters for Destination Manawatu. Chances are, you will most likely see someone you know gliding, or grappling, on the ice.
