Police are hunting two men who threatened a Palmerston North takeaway worker with a weapon and stole a till.

Yummy Takeaways on Rangiora Ave was targeted by two men on Tuesday between 8.45pm and 9pm.

Police said the men showed one of the workers at the shop an unknown weapon before making off with the till.

The shop owners were shaken but not hurt. No customers were in the shop at the time.

The two men were both of medium build. One worse a grey hooded sweatshirt with dark trousers. The other was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, jeans and a baseball cap.
