A shallow magnitude-4.1 earthquake has shaken the central North Island tonight, GNS Science says.
The four kilometre deep quake struck at 9.31pm and was centred 10km west of Taihape.
Reports on the GeoNet website show that the quake was felt between Feilding and Taumarunui.
