1.Teens cause havoc for police

It was all go in Palmerston North’s CBD last weekend as more than 60 teens let their rampant hormones get the better of them and gave the police force one hell of a headache.

It took Palmerston North’s police more than two hours to chase and capture the over excited teenagers who had been causing trouble for about six hours leading up to the police’s decision to get involved. In the end, about 25 youngsters aged between 10 and 15 were carted off in the paddy wagon. 

2. Manager says workers paid dues, conditions met

Apparently ‘‘stocktake’’ is the new way of stealthily packing up your retail store without letting your staff know. 

Melanie O'Connell said she was told she wasn’t needed at Dollars and Sense because they were doing stocktake. When she showed up at the store she found the doors locked and the windows covered up. 

3. Suppression remains in place

When Ewen Macdonald appeared in Palmerston North District Court on Tuesday, his criminal charges were suppressed. However, the suppression lapsed on Wednesday and details of his criminal charges could be revealed. 

4. Drink drivers List

5. Couple wins Lotto first division

A lucky Palmerston North claimed $166,667 in Lotto. The couple wished to keep their identity a secret but said the best thing about the winnings was that they no longer had to worry about their mortgage.
