A carpark next to Plumbing World on Fitzherbert Ave has been cordoned off by police after a woman was allegedly sexually violated there early today.

Detective Sergeant Simon Harrison said the woman, who is described as under 25, told police the incident took place about 2am.

A full and formal statement from the woman had yet to be taken.

The carpark was under police guard this morning while a scene examination took place.

Mr Harrison said he was confident police would be able to identify the person or people involved in the incident through CCTV footage and inquiries.
