LATEST: Manawatu Prison has been given the all clear following a bomb threat at the facility south of Palmerston North today.
Police central communications acting shift commander Mark Oliver said the threat was received about 9.30am. Prison staff searched the facility and nothing suspicious was found.
Mr Oliver did not know what the exact nature of the threat was.
It is understood the prison was put in lock down for a period of time delaying the transport of some inmates to Palmerston North District Court where they had been scheduled to appear.
