Windfall of cash to give to owner
Do you know this woman?CHRIS HYDE
Finding $80 lost in the Manawatu wind was a breeze for Palmerston North police, but when it comes to tracing the woman who lost it, they're a little blustered.
Manawatu Police have today released a CCTV image of the woman in the hope that she will be reunited with money she dropped near the Palmerston North police station car yard on Thursday October 17.
The woman, who police believe is about 60 years old, was walking past the yard at about 3pm when she dropped about $200 from her handbag.
She chased the money down Church St but the notes were blown into the car yard.
Senior Constable Dave Andrews said an officer who was passing by at the time stopped to help the woman.
Andrews said the woman believed she and the officer had recovered most of the money, but some further notes were found by officers in the yard after she had left.
He is appealing for the woman or anyone else that may know her to contact him on (06) 351 3776.
