LATEST: The search of a Linton property at the centre of the Whetu Hansen homicide investigation will continue into its third week.
The property on Akers Rd has been the focal point of the search for the missing Whanganui man since December 4.
The search was expected to finish this week, but Detective Senior Sergeant Simon Harrison said it will run into the next week due to the extensive size of both the section and number of buildings on it.
Police staff from Whanganui and Taranaki are also assisting with the search, with six staff at the property today.
Army personnel from nearby Linton Military Camp were also called in to help, but finished at the site yesterday.
''I want to thank the community for their patience and understanding with our continued presence at the property.
"It's crucial to our investigation that we complete a meticulous examination and gather any potential evidence."
Inquiries in both Manawatu and Whanganui to determine Mr Hansen's last movements continued, Mr Harrison said.
Police would still like to speak to anyone who saw Hansen's primer coloured Ford ute or Hansen himself.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Dave Wilson (06) 213 9595. Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
