Police have searched the home of missing Whanganui man Whetu Hansen as the investigation into his suspected homicide continues.

Mr Hansen, 53, was last seen on November 24, travelling from Whanganui to Palmerston North in a grey-primer coloured Ford Ute.

His vehicle was found at an Akers Rd, Linton, property on December 2.

A police search of the property is now in its third week, and Detective Sergeant Simon Harrison says it is "ongoing".

A search was carried out at Mr Hansen's house in Whanganui on Monday and officers spoke with friends and associates there, he said.
