A 23-year-old man slipped off a rock, falling about 1.5 metres into a river, hitting his head on another rock in Tongariro National Park today.

The man received moderate head injuries after the fall at Tawhai Falls and was flown by the Taupo-based Greenlea Rescue Helicopter to Rotorua Hospital.

The Palmerston North man had been with a group of friends at the time.

Do you have faith in police solving burglaries?

Yes - there's no faulting their commitment.

Mostly, but they are under-resourced.

Sort of - depends on when and where.

Not really - clearly a low priority for them.

Absolutely not.

Not sure - luckily I've never been burgled.
