Sunstrike is suspected to be behind a two-car crash on the outskirts of Palmerston North.

Two people were taken to Palmerston North Hospital after their vehicles collided at the intersection of Roberts Line and Napier Rd, State Highway 3, shortly after 3pm today, Constable Warwick Denby said.

The male driver of a Toyota Land Cruiser is believed to have been turning right into Roberts Line when his vehicle and that of a woman driving a Ford Telstar north on Napier Rd, crashed.

The woman suffered serious injuries, and was trapped in the car and had to be cut out by the fire service.

The man has believed to have hit his head, and both were taken away by St John Ambulance.

Denby said initial indications were that sunstrike played a role in the causing the crash.

A diversion was put in place around Mihaere Drive for just short of an hour.

Will Aaron Cruden's omission hurt or help the All Blacks?

Hurt - he needs as much game time as possible.

Help - finally Beauden Barrett will get a proper run.

Hmmm - no biggie, just a temporary hitch.

Who is Cruden? I support the All Whites.
