The 29-year-old woman who received serious head injuries when her scooter and a truck collided in Palmerston North has died.
Korean-born Jieun Jung, known as JJ, was knocked off her scooter at the intersection of Te Awe Awe St and Fitzherbert Ave on April 18.
She died in Wellington Hospital early this morning. Her family flew over from Korea last week and were by her side.
Mrs Jung was a Massey University PhD student who moved to Palmerston North with her husband in 2006.
She had a Bachelor of Science in agricultural biology and a Master of Science in plant pathology, both from Chonnam National University in South Korea.
Senior Sergeant Brett Calkin said the investigation into the crash was ongoing. It was too early to say if charges would be laid, he said.
