Kids' portraits to help hospice

International award-winning Palmerston North photographer Binh Trinh's next project, Kids of Manawatu, is all in aid of Arohanui Hospice.
He's aiming to round up at least 100 children to photograph. For $100, families get a print to keep, and the photos will be compiled into a coffee-table book. All proceeds will go to the hospice.
His connection with the hospice was fostered through family links with fundraiser Phil Burt, and he has done portraits for some families who have wanted to preserve memories when one of them has faced a terminal illness.
"It always makes me sad to see someone going through cancer, and coming from Malaysia it was a shock to see so many people suffer here.
"I think this project is a really nice way to encourage families who have been procrastinating to book a child in for a portrait."
It meant people who donated to Arohanui got something precious to keep, and contributed to celebrating the future generation, he said.
