The untouchable Lynch sisters from Terrace End School are ripping up the sports field.
Manawatu representative touch rugby's two new members are Alex Lynch, 6, and sister Kaitlyn, 8.
Kaitlyn said it felt "awesome" to make the under-9 team. Alex plays for the under-7 team. The sporty duo say playing for Manawatu means "wearing a green top".
Mum Shelly Lynch said the girls did not understand what it meant to play for the region. "They're just happy to play sports."
Kaitlyn and Alex had only played touch for one season before being selected.
Mrs Lynch said her daughters took to rugby naturally. "They love running fast and scoring tries."
The children are encouraged by both parents to play sports to keep them away from the PlayStation.
Terrace End School deputy principal Kris Funnell said the "sparky" sisters deserved their sporting success. "I'm absolutely delighted that these girls have been recognised in their skills and talent in rugby. Having a child that is high-spirited is one of the most amazing things."
The sisters practise passing with brother Liam, 10, who also loves rugby.
When not on the touch rugby field, the siblings play netball, basketball and football.
