Jack Peacock has more surprises in store for him when he reaches Australia.
Seven-year-old Jack, who has Hunter syndrome , was a Make-A-Wish Foundation recipient earlier this week, when he became a "policeman" for a day. He and his family are also travelling to Brisbane for a holiday as part of the wish.
Members from the Brisbane Airport Uniform Police heard about Jack's story and will meet him when he arrives in Brisbane today.
Senior Constable Chris Hay said he will give the Peacock family "VIP" treatment.
"When they arrive, they will jump the line when it comes to immigration and Customs.
"I will also be presenting Jack with a memento from the Australian Federal Police and will attempt to have something for him from the Queensland Police Service," Mr Hay said.
Jack's mother, Kirsty Peacock, said the whole thing had become far bigger than she had expected.
"I was told the story had gone national, but had no idea it would get to someone in Australia," she said.
She said since Jack received his police uniform on Tuesday, he has been wanting to wear it to school every day. "I've told him he can wear it on the plane over tomorrow, so he is very excited.
"Alex [Jack's younger brother] has felt a bit left out, so I will be buying him a police uniform over there [Australia] so the boys can wear them together."
