Pavich trains female motorcyclists

Teaching female riders the finer points of safe motorcycling is the new initiative for New Zealand motorcyclist Karel Pavich.
Her first course will have its national debut at Manfeild this month.
The growing popularity of recreational motorcycle riding with women inspired Ms Pavich to create a training day for women riders.
"The common perception might be that motorcycling is a predominantly male thing, but that's wrong – a lot of women are taking to the road on bikes.
"Motorcycling has its risks, and my aim is to help riders minimise risks so they can become safer, more competent riders on the road," Ms Pavich said.
Riding for more than 30 years, she is the only woman to win a New Zealand Road Racing championship, in 2006.
She said the training course was for all women riders from beginners to those who had been riding for decades. The training day is on March 30 and costs $125 per participant.
