The weekend will bring a mixed bag weather-wise with warm winter temperatures accompanied by wind and rain.

MetService forecaster John Law said wind and rain would build in strength tomorrow, continue overnight and ease on Sunday.

"There will be patchy drizzle in the morning getting wetter towards the end of the day.''

Blustery winds from the north west were expected tomorrow but by Sunday the wind which switch to the south and ease.

On Sunday morning rain would turn to showers which would clear later in the day.

Mr Law said depending on the wind temperatures tomorrow could reach 16 degrees Celius, with Sunday slightly cooler at 15 degrees. Temperatures would drop to a low of 9C overnight.
