The Manawatu District Council will open its District Plan review to the public for section-by-section feedback.
Feilding's town centre will be the first subject for the sectional review, with the call for public feedback due to kick in later this month.
The District Plan is the council's text book for land use and development rules.
Senior policy planner Deborah Kissick said it was vital that the community's views be expressed and taken into account.
“This is their first feedback chance, and while it is not a formal submission as such, it gives council a steer as to where the community wants council to head."
Feedback was invited on activities and development at Manfeild Park, the Feilding town centre's mix of activities, its building design and heritage values, thoughts on Feilding growth and new areas for residential and industrial development, infill subdivision and housing on existing residential properties, and also on rural subdivisions.
