The man accused of stabbing another man at a Palmerston North property used by the Shepherd’s Rest Trust has made an unsuccessful application for bail.

Justin Karatiana’s bid for freedom was turned down yesterday and he was remanded in custody until his next appearance in Palmerston North District Court next month.

Karatiana, 34, entered no plea to charges of injuring with intent and breaching prison release conditions.

The Shepherd’s Rest Trust provides accommodation for people who might otherwise have nowhere to go.
