After a one year hiatus, the Classic Hits Winery Tour will be back in Manawatu next year with a brand new venue.

The tour, which in the past has attracted musicians such as Brooke Fraser and Dave Dobbyn, was held at Arena Manawatu last year and 2010 but missed out this year.

The lack of a vineyard in Palmerston North was cited as a reason for the omission but when the tour comes back to the greater Manawatu, it will be held at the Tui Brewery in Mangatainoka.

Tui Brewery commercial manager Nick Rogers said he was ‘‘rapt’’ the brewery was to be included as a venue for the tour.

‘‘We are proud that we have made it into the Winery Tour as a brewery.

‘‘It is a great addition to all the other events we have at the brewery over the summer and we are excited to see great artists playing in our back yard.’’

Five new venues will host the show next year, including Waitiri Creek in the Gibbston Valley, Queenstown; Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin, Church Road in Napier and Mystery Creek in Hamilton.

All up there will be 17 shows in 16 locations, but the line up will not be confirmed until next month.

Co-promoter Brent Eccles said he was proud to see the event would hold its　 100th live show next year at the Black Barn Vineyards.

"It's a credit to all of the artists and crew and our winery venue partners who have worked with us over the last seven years.

"The fact that this is, as always, an all-New Zealand affair makes it an even sweeter taste."

The Mangatainoka show will be on February 10.
