Feilding police are on the lookout for the driver of a boy-racer vehicle that was lowered to the point where sparks were coming off it.

Sergeant Grant Lawton said police were told of a gathering of boy racers in the Rongotea area on Saturday morning.

Officers were waiting at a Waitohi Rd intersection when about 100 of the cars drove past them, including the lowered Nissan Cefiro.

Mr Lawton said police gave chase but after a 6.1km pursuit it was called off near Sanson.

Mr Lawton said the car reached speeds of 150kmh.

Anyone with information about the car, licence plate number SR5739, is asked to contact Feilding police on 06 323 6363.

Stay sunny, I've loved February!

A few showers to appease the farmers, but not too much.
