Holiday traffic in the central North Island will be held up after a crash involving four motorbikes near National Park.
Police and emergency services were at the scene on State Highway 4 where it was believed two of the riders have moderate injuries.
Road conditions in the area, about 1km south of National Park Village, are "slick" due to the weather, say police.
One lane of the highway has been closed while the area is cleared.
Police have asked commuters to be reminded to pay particular attention to both the weather and road conditions while travelling home from the long weekend.
