Singing, dancing, sequin-smothered students will take to the stage tonight for a "gleeful" end-of-year performance.

Massey University's first Glee Club - inspired by the hit American musical television series Glee - will make its theatre debut performance at the Globe Theatre in Palmerston North this evening.

The TV show responsible for entrenching the term "mash-up" in the musical lexicon inspired the establishment of the club this semester by self-confessed "Gleek" Madeleine Gray. The show is famed for its teen cast's up-to-the-minute interpretations of pop songs, blended and adapted for stage.

Tonight's performance will stay true to the Glee format, Ms Gray said - including Lady Gaga and Adele mash-ups.

Tickets are available from Massey University Students' Association reception. The show starts at 7.30pm.

Opinion poll

Will Aaron Cruden's omission hurt or help the All Blacks?

Hurt - he needs as much game time as possible.

Help - finally Beauden Barrett will get a proper run.

Hmmm - no biggie, just a temporary hitch.

Who is Cruden? I support the All Whites.
