Any hope of an early summer for Manawatu is fading as more stodgy weekend weather has been forecasted.

Metservice forecaster Ian Gall said the region could expect fine but cool weather with light winds until Thursday.

The calm weather would replaced by showers with moderate westerly winds on Friday and Saturday.

Sunday hikers catch a break as the showers should give way to partly cloudy skies towards the end of the weekend.

Be sure to pack a second layer in the mornings as the temperature is not expected to rise above 20 degrees C all week.

Do you have faith in police solving burglaries?

Yes - there's no faulting their commitment.

Mostly, but they are under-resourced.

Sort of - depends on when and where.

Not really - clearly a low priority for them.

Absolutely not.

Not sure - luckily I've never been burgled.
