A 66-year-old man was seriously injured after colliding with a tractor on Oroua Road north of Palmerston North.

The accident happened about 5:20pm last night.

Feilding sergeant Dave Burmeister said the man appeared to have dropped the bike in an effort to avoid a collision, and in doing so slid and hit the side of a tractor mowing the grass verge.

The man was taken to Palmerston North Hospital with serious leg, arm and neck injuries.

The cause of the crash is not known.

Will Aaron Cruden's omission hurt or help the All Blacks?

Hurt - he needs as much game time as possible.

Help - finally Beauden Barrett will get a proper run.

Hmmm - no biggie, just a temporary hitch.

Who is Cruden? I support the All Whites.
