LATEST: Heavy rain overnight caused a rock fall from the Manawatu Gorge on to State Highway 3 this morning.

Palmerston North Police contacted Higgins after an officer came across rocks, which had come down in various places along the gorge stretch of the highway.

Senior Sergeant Phil Ward said while there was not enough debris to stop traffic through the gorge, it may have been dangerous for motorcyclists.
