Hundreds of people, primarily women, rushed to EziBuy’s annual sale in Palmerston North to grab a bargain.
Each year the clothing and homeware giant opens its doors and brings out thousands of items that are heavily discounted for people to rummage through and buy big.
First-time shopper Cassie Rowe said she was asked to go to the sale by friends and was shocked at the number of people, the intensity of the atmosphere and the low prices.
'‘It was a totally new experience for me. We got there at 6.10am and were told we were late.’’
Ms Rowe said she bought a couple of jackets, two dresses and a set of bathroom scales, all for $32.
The sale is on again today, but Ms Rowe said she would not be going.
‘‘It gets pretty intense in there.’’
