The working group set up to tackle Palmerston North's parking woes has signalled that more changes to the much-maligned system could be implemented sooner rather than later.
The main purpose is "to provide confidence . . . that the system is fair, easy to use, costs are reasonable and that it works".
The working party will talk with retailers to find out what can be done to make the parking situation better. A report is required to be given to the council by April, with a first draft by February. The party can also recommend instant changes to the parking system.
