Taupo police are searching for a man who has been missing for two days.

Leighton Kerry Grant, 35, left Taupo last Friday and was due back by 6pm on Saturday January 26.

He is driving a late model white Suzuki Vitara, registration FTN631.

"It is thought he was heading for the Tongariro National Park, but could now be anywhere in the North Island," said Senior Constable Barry Shepherd.

"Police and the man's family would appreciate people looking out for the white Suzuki, and if seen, report its location to the Police by calling 111."

Do you have faith in police solving burglaries?

Yes - there's no faulting their commitment.

Mostly, but they are under-resourced.

Sort of - depends on when and where.

Not really - clearly a low priority for them.

No way.
