Emergency services tend to a woman who collapsed in The Square.

A woman in her 60s was taken to Palmerston North Hospital after collapsing in The Square.

The woman remained in a critical condition in the Palmerston North Hospital intensive care unit this morning.

Senior Sergeant Phil Ward said the woman was found in the public toilets about midday yesterday, having collapsed due to a medical problem.

A number of police cars also attended the scene to help ambulance staff.
