Car gutted by fire

Police are seeking information about a suspicious fire which gutted a car in the city overnight.

At about 1.50am police and firefighters were called to a vehicle that was engulfed in flames outside a house on St Johns Avenue.

Police said witnesses had been woken by ''loud noises'' and the sound of a vehicle heading towards Tremaine Ave.

An investigation of the scene by police and the fire service is underway today and police want to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area this morning.
