Truck crashes near Shannon
Strong winds may have caused a truck and trailer unit to tip on its side near Shannon, blocking one lane of traffic.
Police Central Communications Inspector Chris Tate said a B-Train truck and trailer unit has tipped on its side just outside the Shannon township on SH57 about 12.30pm.
Strong winds while the truck was turning a tight corner from Okuku Rd, are believed to be the cause of the crash.
The driver of the truck was treated by St John Ambulance staff, but the seriousness of his injuries were not known.
No other vehicles were involved.
The truck was off the road and was not blocking the train tracks, but the north-bound lane had been blocked off, he said.
Traffic diversions down Okuku Rd were in place for north-bound drivers.
The south-bound lane was flowing.
