A 51-year-old Levin woman is missing and police and family concerned for her welfare are appealing to the public for help finding her.
Police Search and Rescue Teams have searched the Victoria Esplanade in Palmerston North for Helen Rahera Wiwarena.
The missing woman was last seen in that area at about 2.30pm yesterday, when she wandered off from a group.
Wiwarena suffers from a mental illness and requires daily medication. She had been staying at St Dominics in Feilding as a respite patient and was visiting the Esplanade yesterday with them, police said.
She is described as Maori, of a solid build and 158cm tall, light skinned and with short curly black and grey hair and she may be wearing a dark coloured beanie with a red scarf and a blue checked shirt.
Police and family are concerned for her welfare and any information can be passed on to the Palmerston North Police on 3513600 or 111.
